Hollywood Forever Engagement Shoot - Jordan + Donald
A Unique Engagement Session at Hollywood Forever Cemetery
Hello everyone,
I recently had the unique pleasure of photographing Jordan and Donald's engagement session at the iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. This location, with its rich history and beautiful scenery, provided a truly one-of-a-kind backdrop for their special photoshoot.
Discovering Hitchcock's Gravesite
We began our session outside, where the natural light highlighted the beauty of the cemetery's well-kept grounds. Our first stop was at Alfred Hitchcock's gravesite. Jordan and Donald were both thrilled to incorporate a touch of classic Hollywood into their engagement photos. The gravestone, adorned with flowers and tributes, added a sense of history and intrigue to the shots.
Strolling Around the Pond
Next, we took a leisurely walk around the picturesque pond. The water's serene reflection, combined with the lush greenery, created a perfect setting for capturing intimate moments between the couple. Jordan and Donald's love for each other shone through in every photo, enhanced by the tranquil surroundings.
Capturing Magic in the Mausoleum
One of the highlights of our session was venturing into the mausoleum. The sunlight filtering through the stained glass windows cast a magical glow, creating a dramatic and ethereal atmosphere. These shots were nothing short of breathtaking, with the light adding a soft, romantic touch to the images. Jordan and Donald's connection was palpable, making these photos some of my favorites from the day.
Back To Where It All Began
We concluded our shoot in the large grass area where Hollywood Forever Cemetery hosts movie nights. This location held special significance for Jordan and Donald, as it was the spot of their very first date. Incorporating this personal touch into their engagement photos made the session even more meaningful. The expansive green lawn provided a beautiful, open space for capturing their joy and excitement about their future together.
Final Thoughts
Photographing Jordan and Donald's engagement session at Hollywood Forever Cemetery was an unforgettable experience. The combination of historical significance, natural beauty, and personal meaning made it the perfect location for their photos. I'm thrilled with how the images turned out and can't wait to see them cherish these memories for years to come.
If you're looking for a unique and meaningful location for your engagement photos, consider Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Its rich history and stunning scenery provide endless possibilities for creating beautiful and memorable images.
Until next time,
Aaron Monroe

Sometimes it just so happens with weddings you just have to roll with the punches. You learn quickly that things run a little behind schedule or a helium tank breaks but in the end the only thing that matters is the two people saying “I do.” I don’t mean to be cheesy but I must emphasize that this is absolutely true! Some weddings have more obstacles then others because that is life baby! We all are forced to roll with the punches, adapt to the situation and merrily go forward…
Such was the day for Natalie and Carlos. It seemed like everything was going awry. For starters, the late car services delayed the hair and make-up pushing their ceremony time back significantly. Then, to top it all off, the officiant was a no-show. If you told any couple that this would happen on their wedding day certainly panic would ensue. And yet, things always have a way of working out even in our worse case scenarios. The DJ they hired stepped in to save the day and officiate the wedding. When Natalie proceeded to walk down the aisle she was stunning as ever. Beaming cheek to cheek, Carlos held back tears when he caught a glimpse of her for the first time in her wedding dress. Every little thing that went wrong washed away in an instant. None of it truly mattered because what they had was more special. They had each other.

Palm Springs Wedding - The Chateau at Lake La Quinta - Brent + Jen
I love when couples plan a wedding EXACTLY the way they want to. It frees them to relax and enjoy every moment from start to finish. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the large bridal parties, bouquet tosses and speeches that occurs at most weddings but when Brent and Jen told me they weren’t having any of that I just knew it was going to be perfect for them.
Brent and Jen got married at The Chateau at Lake La Quinta in Palm Springs this past year. They do their fair share of camping and dirt biking whenever they can so getting married in the desert was totally fitting. Their guest list was limited only to their closest friends and family which also included their adorable dog!
The relaxed nature of the day allowed us to take our time shooting romantics and go exploring outside of the hotel. I had to make sure I got a shot that featured the gorgeous Palm Springs landscape. After that, it was time to party and get one final shot of the night. I love getting one epic shot where I can add some flair to their wedding album! Enjoy :)
Rancho Los Alamitos Engagement Photography: Chris + Cynthia
Long Beach CA- Rancho Los Alamitos Engagement Session - Chris + Cynthia
Hello again… Been super busy with lots of shoots and little time for important things like blogging, jogging and eating. In all seriousness it has been quite an eventful wedding season and now it is onward to 2020!!! So without further ado, here is an engagement session in Long Beach’s hidden gem- Rancho Los Alamitos. I met Chris + Cynthia one Saturday morning and toured the idyllic gardens on the beautiful property. Cynthia’s dresses were absolutely stunning. I am a little biased towards anything red so I especially love the red one she wore. It pops out at you when ever looking at the image.
Chris + Cynthia are getting married next year at The Hummingbird Nest. The wedding I am certain will be just as beautiful as their engagement! Check out their session below—
Thomas F Riley Wedding Anniversary: Jon + Louisa
How do you celebrate your one year wedding anniversary? By doing a shoot with with your wedding photographer at an amazing location!
I am truly blessed! Yes yes— that sounds like a cliche but when ever I get repeat clients I have to thank my lucky stars. From the moment these two walked into my office when they were looking for a wedding photographer almost two years ago now I knew I loved them. They are my type of people for sure.
Their wedding is special to me as we now share the same wedding anniversary :) August 11th will forever be a special day to both of us. We celebrated their anniversary by heading out to the same location we shot their engagement session. When I showed up to Thomas F. Riley I actually had ZERO idea that they’d be wearing their actual wedding day attire. I was so shocked when Jon exited the car looking dapper in his suit in tie. Louisa even got a new bouquet made!
It was so great to relive their engagement session while chopping up old memories about their wedding day. I couldn’t ask for better clients to share my anniversary- haha… Enjoy!

I get goosebumps when I check in on Instagram to see that a former client of mine announces that they are pregnant and thrilled to become new parents. It isn’t rare that you connect with a couple and care deeply about their future life together. So when I got a call from Nick + Liz asking me to shoot their maternity session I instantly jumped not the opportunity to reconnect with two rad people. I couldn’t ask for a higher honor then to have repeat clients where I get to follow the different chapters of their lives.
As of writing this, Nick + Liz gave birth to their beautiful baby and I can absolutely tell they are over the moon, head over heels in love. Baby is healthy and 100% adorable!!! Mom is also going great! I remember Liz had an air about her the day of our shoot. She was radiant. Self-assured and gorgeous. I have probably said it a thousand time and will repeat it over and over: I am in awe of what woman do from the gestation to birth. Their power and fearlessness is something to revere. So any way, shout out to all the moms and future moms, and the dads who support their partners through the whole entire process. Hope you enjoy their session at the Los Angeles Arboretum in Pasadena, CA.

I truly am full of gratitude when couples share their stories with me. It just never gets old to hear about that first date or first kiss… or even how she wasn’t interested until that one moment and then *bam* sparks fly. Each story is unique and special in its own way and I realize I am just one small lily pad on their entire journey. The future that has yet to be written.
Kylene + Jonas traveled a long way to end up where they currently live in Costa Mesa, CA. They have done long distance in different time zones. Moved in together in San Diego. And now Orange County while Kylene gets her graduate degree. They are getting married in March of 2020 at The Hacienda in Santa Ana. Shortly after their wedding Jonas will ship out to Kuwait serving his country as an Army Reserve. The thought of being long distance again could really put a damper on things— but not with Kylene and Jonas. Their out look is strong. It is positive. Hopefully and above all else it is loving. Faith and trust in each other is the pillar of any relationship. These two clearly have it in spades.
Enjoy their engagement session at Mission San Juan Capistrano. This historic site was the perfect place for their shoot as it totally fits the theme with their wedding venue. The adobe walls add a certain warmth and vibrance to every image. After our time at the Mission we headed across the street for a stroll through a historic neighborhood that is adjacent to the train tracks. We got ALL the editorial looks. You got to scroll down because they look like they’re straight out of a magazine!!! Any way— a super fun and creative session. Cheers ~
Laguna Beach Engagement Photography: Brent + Jen
Engagement Location: Top of the World in Laguna Beach —Brent + Jen
Why does it seem to be freezing cold in mid-July whenever I shoot? Overcast and a chilly breeze at the highest peak in Laguna Beach— sounds fun right? Well, it actually was because I was in the company of some great people. They are good-sports and braved the cold mid-summer weather. Brent + Jen are are getting married in the desert this fall which will likely be very cold at that time too. But I am sure they’ll brave those elements in order to get some awesome shots ;)
We shot their session at The Top of The World park in Laguna Beach, CA. I had never got the chance to shoot there before so it was certainly a treat to do something new. If you hike just a little ways down you get an unobstructed 360 degree view of the Orange County mountains as well as the beach.
I lost a little light quickly due to dense layer of clouds which gave me an opportunity to do a little creative off-camera flash work. When the sun did peak through a little crevice shortly we got some AMAZING red tones reflecting off the mountains. Crazy how the light can just shift everything in an instant!
In any case, we had a great time despite the chill factor and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in October!

When you live in Los Angeles with all its delightful craziness, you come to love the desert for it’s calming qualities that you just can’t get in the city. Alex and Jack had their wedding at a private residence just outside Joshua Tree National Park. They wanted a small and intimate wedding with just their close friends and family. Everything was put together in pure DIY fashion! It was absolutely perfect…
The sunset was insane! I am so glad we got to take a moment during their reception to brave the cold winds to take advantage of a truly unforgettable sky— Check out their wedding below!
