The Mayan Theatre

This beautiful couple is getting married at Rolling Hills Country Club this summer. I met them through a previous bride and we immediately hit it off. Downtown Los Angeles was the perfect locations for their engagement shoot with so many great spots near one another. Roxanne loved the architecture outside The Mayan Theatre in LA so that is where we began our shoot! Right off the bat I knew this session was going to be epic. They are clearly so in love. It is so cute how he sweeps her hair back while kissing her forehead. And the way she looks up at him before resting her head on his chest. The sweetest!

The Mayan Theatre was closed that afternoon which made for the perfect engagement photos with hardly anyone about. After a couple moments taking in this old Los Angeles theatre we made our way to our second location for the afternoon

Pershing Square

Just down the street from The Mayan is Pershing Square. This park takes up an entire city block and is completely dwarfed by the surrounding skyscrapers. I loved shooting against the colorful walls at Pershing Square. One of my favorite images is Roxi and Farbod against the yellow wall. Their love really shines! Pro Tip for photographers and couples alike looking to do a shoot here: You most definitely need a photo permit to shoot at Pershing Square. So prepare in advance!

Walt Disney Concert Hall

Couples ask all the time: what should I wear for engagement photos? My answer is always the same: use it as an excuse to get dressed up a little fancier then normal. Think of it like an elegant date-night out on the town with your fiancee… only with a photographer present! Needless to say Roxi and Farbod absolutely y blew me away with their wardrobe choices for the final location. We completed the engagement session at The Walt Disney Concert Hall. I just love the mirrored walls with its cartoonish facade. Not to mention the views of the Los Angeles streets are just fantastic!

Downtown Los Angeles Night Engagement Photos: Julie + Jon (Part II)

Here is the second part of Julie and Jon's engagement session. The sun and light had mostly receded behind the mountain thus leaving lots of shadows but an epic sunset. To fit the dramatic sunset and elegance of the couple we changed the style and added flash to get a different feel to their photos that would enhance to their Los Angeles engagement session.

After an hour of traffic we arrived in Downtown Los Angeles. Downtown LA was the perfect setting for Julie and Jon to shoot their engagement session since they will be married at the Cicada Club just a few blocks over. Julie is also getting ready at the Biltmore Millennium!

We started at the John Ferraro Building that offers sweeping views of the downtown skyline. Despite being a Saturday during peak holiday season, everything was relatively quiet and all the more romantic! We also hit up Walt Disney Concert Hall and The Broad. Once again this fearless couple did anything to get the shot and it was because of them that we got some of these images (Like the one of them in the middle of the street for one)! I do love them so... 

Malaga Cove Engagement Photos: Julie + Jon (Part 1)

This couple is entirely too adorable. They've been together for 9 years and will be getting married September 2018 at The Cicada Club. Elegant, glamorous, daring and beautiful are all words that come to mind for these two. Julie and Jon are incredible people inside and out. I love the way he looks at her with the upmost adoration! It is so sweet... 

Rancho Palos Verdes has some of the best beaches in Los Angeles making the perfect location for an engagement session. The light was perfect and the sunset was beautiful... The winter truly has the BEST sunsets! 

At dusk we wrapped up part one of their engagement session to make our way to Downtown Los Angeles for a nighttime shoot.
